1,001 Thank U Cards from International Girls Academy

With the support of the Community, The International Girls Academy had the opportunity to give out 27,5000 Thank You cards and light refreshments during the past two years. This campaign was launched to help first responders feel appreciated for their mighty work for the community. We believe that first responders should be celebrated all the time.

We had the opportunity to receive support from Verizon Employees throughout the United States, Starbucks Partners, Community Members, Board Members, and Local Schools. For MLK Day of Service, The International Girls Academy had the opportunity to have Inclusion resource groups serving as a sponsor for this project: Black Inclusion Group (BIG), International Inclusion Group (IIG), Women at Indeed (WAI), All Generations Empowered (AGE), and Parents And Caregivers (PAC).

“Indeed’s mission is to help all people get jobs, and it is important we all support and help nurture the future workforce. Sometimes we say that “we are the table,” but the children of our community will be the tables in the new rooms they are so courageously building today.  Indeed’s Inclusion Resource Groups are honored to support the work IGA does to support young girls and their communities. Let’s not forget they’re also doing it amid a global pandemic!” - Stacy Peters, Regional Co-Chair, Black Inclusion Group AMER.

This year for our 1,001 Thank U campaign, we’ve focused our resources and efforts on helping neighborhoods that needed water. We have a mighty goal to give out 5,000 cases of water this year to help our fellow community members in Jackson, Mississippi!

We believe and live by much is required to whom much is given. That said, we believe it’s our duty and responsibility to help a community regardless of location. We hope the community can assist us with our goals.
